Packaging refers to the process of designing the package such as containers, wrappers etc. It plays a very significant
role in the marketing success or failure of many products especially for non durable consumer products.
It not only provides protection to the product but also acts as a promotional tool.
Package graphic design and physical design have been important and constantly evolving phenomena for several decades. Marketing communications and graphic design are applied to the surface of the package and often to the point of sale display. Most packaging is designed to reflect the brand's message and identity on the one hand while highlighting the respective product concept on the other hand.
